Torin Yater Wallace signs with Target

Don't know if this is a repost, but I wanna congratulate my buddy Torin in signing with Target, becoming the 3rd athlete, next to Shaun White and Simon Dumont. Torin is only 15, and is headed to X this week, so wish him luck in his premiere!!!!!!

The kids way talented than most people i've seen above the age of 15. I wouldnt be suprised if he scored a big sponsor like this. Congrats to him, though.

Imo it's funny cause he kinda broke into the pipe scene like Simon did, he is going to win the X pipe like Simon did and now sponsored by Target... weird.

And I would love to know you logic behind that. How could you lose respect for someone for picking up a major sponsor that will support him in ways no one else can? Torin is by far the nicest, most talented skier ever at his age. So humble it is ridiculous. Congrats Torin! You deserve it man, been working so hard the last couple of years.

Add a couple of zeros to that buddy. It's fucking Target, a million dollars is pocket change to that. Of course I have no idea what he's making, but it's probably a hefty chunk o' change.

Why so? Just because he picked up a huge sponsor? Its not any different from when Wallisch signed with TNF this summer. Torin is damn good for his age. You don't see many 15 year olds stomping dub flats in the pipe like their job.

Anyone saying he's "selling out" or "signing his life away", you should wear a helmet to sleep tonight. Signing with big companies is a good opportunity to have competition entry fee's and other stuff payed for. Just because you get paid more to do something doesn't mean you've sold out. I've been good friends with Torin for a while and he could be sponsored by BP and still be all about the sport. Kid just loves to ski, so why not sign with people that'll do nothing but have his back while he pushes the sport?

Selling out would be Immortal Technique joining Death Row and spitting about being a thug and not about the government just to make money. Skiing and getting a corporate sponsorship is not a sell out. He won't change his style cuz of it? Just make some more money doing the same thing

thats not a sponsorship. I dont really see the correlation between a massive discount retailer and the sport of skiing.

What gains do either acheive in this involvement??? besides torin gettin mad scrilla!

anyway just wanna post an article to induce a debate about dumb corporate involvement in our sport and its irrelevance.

so yeah hate on me, but who really gives a fuck if you buy your underwear from target or walmart??

congrats torin, im really interested to hear what actually is your side of the deal though. Do they require you to  do anything besides ski? 

Does anyone actually consider the purpose of corporate moneys affect on our lifestyles/ passions?

I would really like a smart response though , just not $$ signs in everyones eyes coz I feel we've already been through that.
