Final cut pro help

so im new to final cut pro and i can not find out how to add music... i googled and tryed importing it as a file but when i add it there is just beeping can anyone help?

is there a redline above it? because you may have to render it

This. Go to Sequence, render selection, render all.

You need to do this every time you make a change/add a clip of video or audio.

unless you use pro res 422 or intermediate codec, then you can do most changes without rendering

well, you can do it with any codec as long as your sequence settings are correct
