Mad River Big Air/Winterfest - THIS SATURDAY, January 29th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best there this Saturday, January 29th, for the Big Air and Winterfest. The comp starts at 8PM followed by prizes and the Ark Band at 10PMish.

If you haven't heard the Ark Band before, you definitely need to attend Saturday. They're one of the best Reggae bands this side of the Mississippi.

Hope to see everyone this weekend!

I hope a lot of you make it out this weekend. The majority of the "good" rails are in and ready for filming.

The park goes as follows from top to bottom:

Upper Park:

1st tier - flat bar, flat round pipe & butter pad
2nd tier - down bar & flat-down box
3rd tier - down rail (single barrel) & down box
4th tier - down-flat-down single barrel & down-flat-down box

There is also a new Hip in the park-to-park area with a skier cross style bank for your fun and enjoyment.

Lower Park (skiers right):

1st tier - flat double barrel & small jump
2nt tier - flat bar & flat box
3rd tier - Louie Vito fun box & dance floor
4th tier - wide flat bar & single pipe with donkey at the end

Lower Park (skiers left):

1st tier - small jump
2nd tier - small jump
3rd tier - flat bar, hitching post and road block jib
4th tier - (i think down bar) & 45ft down-flat-down hybrid

The jump line is looking up and the park crew even added "Excitebike" style jumps in the Peril area. I can't begin to tell you how much fun we're having on the double jumps.

The Ark Band is playing Saturday night, as well, for those that like good Reggae music.

What happened to that s-rail? Wish the big air was the next weekend, probably the only time I will be able to make it to mad river this year. Even after skiing a shit ton out west this year, I am still pumped to come back to Capital Park.

The jump will be different from last time.

The park itself and the excitebike jumps are worth the trip alone.

Here is the schedule of events for tomorrow's big air at MRM and Capital PARK

6pm-7pm - Registration. Located next to Ski Check. (Look for the Capital PARK banner.)

7pm-7:45pm - Practice

7:50pm - Rider meeting @ top of Sugarbush.

8pm - Start

         -AM Ski

         -AM Board

         -Girls

         -PRO Ski

         -PRO Board

10pm - Fireworks

10:45pm - Awards in LOFT

Should make for a good time. Same jump as last time but we've tweaked the takeoff a little and repushed the landing. Hope to see you all tomorrow!
