How The Fuck! Frustrated With 60fps

I can not for the life of me get the videos i shot off of my Nikon P100 and retain the 60fps at 720p! I have used image capture and iphoto which when i play the clip in quicktime it says they are 29.97fps. Maybe im just not very computer literate but i could not figure out how to log and capture to final cut express either, although i have access to final cut pro too if that has a program which will get the shots off of my camera and retain 60fps.
I made a thread similar to this and so i have figured out the rest of the steps in getting good slow mo, i just cannot figure out the first step haha. any help with a program would be great!

Try getting Mpeg streamclip 5. Then play it through that and export out of Mpeg streamclip to retain 60fps or 59.93 or whatever it's.

You can't import with it. Import the clips through iphoto then copy and paste them to a folder that you will recognize as your clips before editing. Then drag and drop the clips into mpeg. The clips should always stay at what you shot them at, so i am not sure what you are doing.

word well to test i just took a clip set to 60fps and it is now 29.97 in iphoto, so i know that is where the problem is. maybe there are import setting within iphoto that i can change?

You can just copy and paste your clips directly of your ipod from your camera i am pretty sure. So you don't have to use iphoto

stop importing through iphoto. just drag and drop from the card reader. also double check your frame rates in mpeg streamclip, you could be changing it there

Wow. Meant to say copy and paste of your camera onto a folder in your computer. Skip using iphoto doesn't do anything for you.

ya that sounds like what i need to do, i dont have a card reader and the camera does not show on my desktop or anything when plugged in though. i have a macbook, so where would i find the camera under in finder? or should i try to get a card reader?

It should just pop in your finder.

^Bakerpow...unfortunately regular MacBooks don't show the card when you plug in via USB port.
I have a MBP (no big deal) but when I used my girlfriends macbook I had this problem. Try finding the settings on the camera that allow you to use it as "mass storage" and that will allow the card to show in the Finder on the Mac.
Or just go buy a card reader

it wont show up on the desktop. just go pick up a card reader, they are dirt cheap.
one other thing you could try is using image capture instead of iphoto. search for it in spotlight.

Thats odd. I have a macbook and when i plug my camera in it pops up just like an ipod would in finder. I can just copy and paste the clips from there.

alright so i have a card reader now, and when i play the clips straight from the card in quicktime it still says 30fps. is quicktime doing this automatically? or are these clips somehow just 30fps.

Maybe you just shot them in 30fps...
But otherwise i have no idea what you are doing, if you truly shot them in 60fps it should stay it wouldn't just switch.
