Colleges in Colorado

I know there a lot of threads about this and everything so sorry.
But this is my last minute attempt at trying to find a school I like.
I want to end up at CU in boulder. But I dont have the grades to get in my freshman year. So I am looking for a school to maybe just spend a year or two at. And not a community college because my parents wont let me go out there for that.
So just any opinions or advice that you guys have would be great.
Even if its for schools outside of CO but out west still

If he doesn't have the grades for CU then he probably won't get into DU either. Check out CSU in Fort Collins. I'll be a freshmen there next fall.

I'm a freshman at Mesa State in Grand Junction. It's alright, very affordable and easy to get into. Only problem is that it's a couple of hours to get to good skiing.

Go to Metro ( metropolitin state) it is downtown denver right next to DU. It is such an awsome school, most kids who go their are from CO, so it is very laid back, and reasonably priced and easy to get into.

my friend got into regis with a 2.7, so take a look at that. (remember that it is a jesuit school and he is coming from a jesuit hs, so it is absurdly easy to get into, but you may as well take a look

You should check out Fort Lewis for sure. I moved here a couple years ago so I could ski and bike, and it's a great town to adventure. Durango has a great atmosphere, and a lot of chill people.

if you want to come to colorado to ski go to real skiing colleges , western, fort lewis, CMC! front range sucks two hours to skiing and you have to share it with everyone from denver

Are you from out of state? If so I wouldn't waste the money on trying just to get in state (unless someone else is paying the bill) Just do a year of CC in your home state and prove to yourself that you can do well, get good grades. Then reapply to CU after that.

i dont live in either fort collins or boulder, but ive been to both alot, and boulder just sucks ass. the areas around boulder are cool, but once you actually get into town and around the school, it blows. its easily one of the douchiest places in the US.

Quit your bitching dude. Both Fort Collins and Boulder are very cool places. It's all about your attitude. You can either see/dwell on the negatives or not. There'll be shitty people anywhere you go.


My suggestions:
CSU is a good option. Not hard to get into and has some really good programs depending on what you're looking to major in.

CU Denver/Metro are also good options. I've heard they have the same teachers anyways. It'd probably be easier to transfer in from CU Denver though.

Western State is OK. It has awesome skiing nearby but it's in Gunnison, which is one of the coldest places in the US and nothing happens near Gunnison either. Beautiful area though.

my vote is still for fort lewis. CU is great and ive had many a fun time, but your sooooooo far from the mountains. and even when you get there, lift lines.

Colorado schools are soooo expensive, especially out of state. CU boulder is like $38,000 out of state without room and board. If price is a factor, you may want to find a different state, or just a cheaper colorado school.

just a warning about UCD, even though it's under the same umbrella as CU Boulder, they don't transfer credits easily, so make sure that whatever classes you're taking transfer over. I personally recommend metro, it's now the second largest school in the state and is super affordable if you can qualify for in-state tuition.

But if I were to add a school, montana state. Every skier who goes there loves it there. super easy to get into and all the professors are ivy league grads
