As a wildlife leader, I almost completely agree with your first couple of sentences.  A lot of the kids in our group are totally in it for camp, and I don't blame them.  I was the same way.  But, a lot of the regular kids, in fact, do not suck.

damn YL is still around? i did campus life, same shit different toilet..but it was a good time and great fellowship. pretty rad to see that there are some believers on ns.

I don't know if anyone else has this same problem with YL but me, but a lot of my buddies have got into it this year, and I have no problem with that. They all went to Malibu and a couple were sold on the idea after. Yet, the thing is, I don't think it's "right" from my point of view to pull kids into a camp using this phenomenal setting. I mean probably 80% of the kids who go are going FOR the camp, not for the YL aspect. Another kid earlier in the thread said something about how they sell god through games and such, --not word for word obviously-- but i feel the same way. I mean would as many people go if it was a church camp... at a church. I'm not hating, I'm just putting out my view of looking in on it. It feels almost as if they are pulling people in for a modernized version of a church group? Almost all the kids I know in it, smoke and drink. It's just interesting

I'm A Jesus Freak AND I Do Lots of Drugs.

.....but really, I went to a Jesus type summer camp for quite a few years of my life, it's pretty similar to YL. However, I feel that too many people are failing to point out that the important thing was the PEOPLE. It was all about the solid friendships that were created. Oh, and the cute girls that had discussion worthy thoughts on a regular basis.

All In All, a positive experience, but I met some of the most messed up people I've ever known there.....gotta watch out for those children of God, some of them can really act quite childish.....

forgot about thatt! went to windy gap last summer and met a bunch of super cool and cute girls from gerogia that i still talk to every once in a while... super fun time! stop hating, all you haters probably dont even have a view on religion, your parents are divorced, your failing school, your adopted, and have noo friends cause the friends you did have said "hell with being bored and fucking up, im gunna have fun and go places and hangout with decent people" so GTFO if your gunna bitch. why dont you make a thread about being pissed off and hate on everything religious

i was in a youthgroup which sounds like this YL thing. we went on a trip too colorado and had a rail jam in the parking lot of the church. but besides that i still loved the weekly meets with bible discussions and all, my youth pastor was truely ammazing

youre not wasting your time or money by being a part of a church.. Much of the money that you donate to a church goes to helping the community and charities and i know personally even if i was wrong about jesus, being in church gives me a good sense of community and i have made a ton of lifelong friends, therefore my time isnt wasted

Fuck ya I did that. You meet so many sluts at younglife camp. Plus it was pretty fun. I am not religious what so ever but it was still a good time. I still rank younglife camp as one of the best weeks that I have ever had.

I know you're just so pumped that you joined the christian faith last year, and you're super jazzed to tell everyone the word of Christ. And I know you are just so darned proud of your perfect little self. No no, we in fact do not come from broken homes, fail school and fuck up(very christian of you to say by the way). It is in fact your smug, up your own ass attitude about your newfound faith that causes our hatred, and while most of the kids in these groups aren't as horrible of people as our young friend here, it only takes a few 315jibber94's to put a bad taste in the mouths of everyone that isn't directly affiliated with them.

The notion that all christians are good, and all non christians are "bored and fucking up" is the very reason your elitist religion is dying(and good ridance, the world doesn't need your hate).

Lastly, judging by your grammer(or lack thereof) and inability to put together a single coherent sentence, It's safe to assume that you are a blabbering moron. It does not surprise me in the least that you are a fad christian.
