This is my thoughts exactly ha. Malibu was amazing there is so much shit to do there. I heard some guy brought like a half ounce up there and got caught with it.

I think i am going to Malibu this summer it would be awesome to see some fellow Newschoolers there.

Malibu=greatest place ever. i'd probably give up skiing to be able to go every summer. i've gone the last 2 years so the only way i can go this year is to do work crew for a month :( nothing beats experiencing Malibu for the first time.

Not to be pushy but you guys come to MY house like twice a year so it seems fair to me.

I just want to encourage the people who believe in "God" on this thread to apply a little logic and reason to their beliefs.

I mean do any of you understand the history of the Christian faith. The only reason i bring this up is because of the insurmountable evidence which discredits the Bible, Christianity and religion its self. It all seems so blatenly obvious to me.

out of respect i wont escapade for to long, however i would like to leave this here.



Perhaps this will open some eye's.

Everybody has a right to believe what they want to believe. If i believed giant blue pandas were the all knowing I would worship the shit out of them. My point is don't try and interfere with someone's beliefs that is a basic human right that every person has and they should be able to decide for themselves if they believe in God or not.

the only YLers I have ever met are either 1.HUGE nut jobs or 2.total hypocrites.

1. these persons are total sheep. all dress the same( rich bums - designer jeans and $100 XSmall flannels) and Bieber haircuts. Any discussion of morals or lifestyle choices are taken over by them screaming over the discussion about how only their views and chioces are correct and anything else will be met with burning for eternity in some 'hell' place or something
2. type twos preach all day about their love of jesus and pray before meals, etc. This is simply just to create a facade for their peers. Whenever they believe no one is paying attention they are sucking cock and drinking themselves into comas

dont know about other schools but at mine its all rediculously self righteous people who get mad preachy around non young lifers.They also preach about forgiing all this shit when they're the most judgemental people ive met. theres 600+ of them at my school, saying your an atheist gets you fucked up .

All i am suggesting is that people educate themselves on the principals, or religions that they base their lives around. applying logic and a little "methodological doubt" to these principals seems perfectly fucking rational to me.

Did work crew and beyond malibu, some of the best times of my life easily. the camps are awesome in general. Doesn't surprise me that there's so much hate for YL on here but whatever. I feel like if anyone is interested in going just go with an open mind and willingness to have a good time.

I have a couple friends who are really into it, i know a lot of people who do it and i've gone to one or two events. it seems like a really positive program that steers people in the over all right direction but i do have a couple of problems with it.

Like you said you have no clue that it has anything to do with god. the prayer at the end slyly makes you connect the awesome time you are having with Christianity, even though a lot of what you are doing has nothing to do with it.

The fact that it is such a wide scale christian program with a very uniform formula makes me think that its intent overall is to convert people while they are young to Christianity.

I'm not saying that Christianity is a bad thing, like all things is has its good parts and some bad parts.

What bothers me is there are plenty of people who go through the program thinking oh i don't really care for religion but this seems cool, and the whole time they are happy that religion is not a big part of it, but they come out of the program with this asociation between the great time they had and christanity and they come to believe anything that christain leaders tell them.

this isn't true of everyone and it isn't necesarily a terrible thing, i just really don't like how young life is good at taking advantage of young minds and putting a belief system into them.

i'm also not saying that your youth leaders are trying to do this, i bet they are great people, i get the sense that it comes from the top, and that you leaders have no intent of taking advantage of you or brainwashing you but are only following a procedure that is good at doing that.

It;s one of the YL camps in the Princess Louisa Inlet in BC. It's one of the top 10 yachting destinations in the world, insanely beautiful. Also kindof a funny observation from this thread it seems like the people who have actually been to Younglife say it's super fun and the people who havent make comments that have really no backing to them at all.

Younglife and wildlife can be broken easily down into this.

The only reason kids go is so they can go to younglife summer camp. Those camps were by far some of the most fun I've had. And if you go to the meetings out of your free will/choice, then you suck.
