Don't you realize that every time you buy them flowers to make them feel better you're positively reinforcing this behavior? Just like when she'd lose her temper in HS and daddy bought her the new dress/car/etc, you're not making it a bigger problem by playing into her hand. Seriously. Sometimes she needs you to do that for her when she's having a rough go at things, but I get the feeling this is not one of them. If she's driving you insane all the time with needless drama, hit the fkn bricks already.
Girls are emotional by nature- I mean, estrogen is some fucked up shit. Above and beyond that, you need to help your girl get a fkn grip. Crying all the time? Dude, do yourself a favor and don't play into that. Find out the REAL problem and help her fix it. Otherwise, flowers are just making it worse in the long run... But it sounds like she's young as fuck and you are too, otherwise you'd already understand that females are not bound to the constraints of rational thought or behavior the way that men are.

It's not a "waste" if you think it has potential to last. It's an investment. Even if it doesn't pan out, you still paid into a more successful future relationship-wise.
Just because it didn't work out doesn't mean you didn't learn very valuable lessons about yourself and other people. I've been in a TON of relationships and I'm single now but I don't regret any of them- even the ones that ended really shitty, etc because they taught me something I eneded to learn. You know- the kind of stuff nobody can tell you and you have to learn it yourself?
Also, just because you might want to pre-game doesn't mean you're a shitty bf. If your girl isn't a shitty gf, maybe she'd suggest it to save some of your hard-earned money if you're paying for everything. Just a thought, but dating someone who has unrealistic money/emotional expectations is a red flag.
