Cracked base

So I noticed this when I got home from skiing the other day and I have no clue how it happened. All I did that day was hit a few boxes and somehow this happened. I've only used them about 5 or 6 days and this is really only the second time I've gone on boxes with them. I doubt Atomic will do anything about it cus they'll say it was my fault since i was hitting boxes but I didn't know if anyone else has had a similar experience and if theres anything I can do about it or if I should just ptex it or something. Thanks!

It can't hurt to email Atomic and explain the situation. What's the worst that happens, they say they can't do anything? Then you're just in the same situation you were before you emailed them. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll hook you up.

What I would do is try and contact atomic and go through them if at all possible without dropping major dough for them to just look at them.

 If that does seem like the right option, then if the crack is only the base  then I would P-Tex it, and I would cut the crack a little smoother with a utility knife and then apply the p-tex just so you know the p-tex goes all the way down to the core.

Or Take it to a shop.

just looks like they used a shitty base material.
i think its a defect and atomic should replace.

Don't the edges go in about that far, so maybe it's edge related.

It is the edge... it is pulling out and taking some base with it. Before hitting features be sure to grind the edges round at least in the underfoot portion so that they don't catch....It wouldn't hurt to make some friends at Atomic, but don't count on anything.....just p-tex it grind the edges and start hitting the boxes without a care in the world.

Did you manage to get this fixed ? my skis are doing exactly the same thing but along the top of the die cut letters in the base , only had my skis 7 weeks =[ contacted the manufacturer but any tips if i got fix them ?

What it looks like is you have pushed the sidewall and the edge up hitting something hard. Unfortunately it probably means you have damaged the core too. The base can not crack like that without moving upwards which means the sidewall must have moved.

Your best bet is try to take them back to the shop you got them from, and see if they will contact atomic for you. But chances are you wont get much, as the damage has come from hitting something.

My buddy had something like that happen to his punx when he landed on a rock, but way worse. Blew out the whole edge/sidewall.
