I mean, its not that big of a deal, because they weren't expensive, but seriously who steals a pair of poles?

poles are something that alot of people steal actually, because if someone breaks a pair and doesnt have money to buy a set at the mountain they just steal someone elses. Im not saying its the right thing to do but it just happens. I once accidentally took someones poles just caus they were the same ones i had, i realized it after a bit since they werent as beat up as mine. I returned them quickly

If u want to steal rental poles just walk in as u are renting, poles are ususlly just too the side for the "renters" to help themselves, just take some and walk out, then get tape and just tape over the mountains logo thats usually just below the grip then maybe slap a couple stickers on them to make them look less like rentals. 80% of cardrona and snowparks riders are running stolen poles from cardrona rentals.

once you get home cut them down just a little bit if your guna do that. I bought like 10 pairs pre season for like 5 dollars a piece and then just cut a few down. Im no thief

i go to lost and found and just say i lost those nice green and orange scott ones and the dude pulls out some and gives em to mee. thay have soo many at lost and found, why would u steal? 

and i u think thats bad too, thay have 5   55gal drumbs full of em and throw them out after a month

Got my $10 used poles stolen right off the mountain. I was astonished that someone actually took those of all the pairs and they are only like 85cm tall? Anyway I got $100 pair of poles stolen so since then I only buy really cheap used pairs.

Kinda this. followed by a C.S.B.

So it was Asian Invasion week at my home mountain and i kept lapping past this lone pole at the top of the lift (rental pole). All i can think is "damn, if only there was another pole to go with it". So last few laps of the day a stray pole shows up at the bottom of the lift, and Bingo! it matches the pole at the top. So i take that and after some searching at the top find the other pole. So now i have an awesome sent of rental poles (favorite poles i've ever used) and i got them from the mountain on my birthday.

At the beginning of this year, I got into the habit of just taking them for the day and leaving them at the end of the day, but I ended up getting caught, I got a verbal lashing form the guy, but he ended up like "laying his hand on me, in an agressive fashion" and a ski patroller saw and he ended up getting his pass pulled...

it's not bs if the other was beiing agressive towards him, and taking poles for the day is not wrong it's a win win situation for both sides, it helps for balance when you dont have poles
