do you happen to know where i could find a good guide on how to do a "professional" wax job. I know the basics of it, but would like a good guide. it can't be rocket science.

I have an old iron and a buffer, so I'd really like to be able to put on a professional grade wax job myself.

any help would be appreciated.

Well the real question is, if you don't have access to an outlet, how are you posting on the internet?? don't you need an outlet for your computer, or at least one to recharge your phone if thats how you're getting on it... or are you just at a library or something in which case i obviously understand you can't be waxing your skis there

i have a laptop i jack internet for big o tires, i charge my computer at a rec center, not sure they would be cool if i whip out my skis and start waxing in the lobby sir

Look on the outside of industrial buildings near the doors, sometimes there are covered outlets. Also check at ski resorts and service stations.

a lot of schools in my area have plug outlets on the outside, check those out for a potential power source.

Shut up you stupid n00b, learn proper grammar, and don't post if you're not going to give advivce. As for the OP, I would suggest going somewhere with electricity for sure. All you need is wax, an iron, and a scraper. Or if you happen to be anywhere near a boardshop or ski shop (not sure if you are), they might have rub on wax you could buy, but I've heard it doesn't work very well. An old clothing iron might work too (I'm not sure, my friend just told me it did).

Go to any store or parking garage and the will likely have outlets to plug the cars into. The best is going to a place somewhere in downtown because the people working there will have to plug in their cars at some point or another in the year, meaning there will be outlets.. Just use that, although you may get a few funny looks..

Some resorts have places made to wax your skis in. These resorts may be more nordic focused though.

For the broke asses living out of their cars...Boil hot water in a pan. Then, use the bottom of the pan like the bottom of an iron. you need wax which is like 2 bucks and you can use a makeshift scraper.

Put a pan on your engine when your cars on. Should get nice and hot and it works like an iron.
