i have a setup that ive been slowly putting together


but i have no experience/training/safteyequiptment/buddy to actually go touring yet so i plan to just mess around in the slackcountry this season then if i like it begin to actually get into it

i dont really know but

unsafely- skis, suitable bindings, and skins

the right way- skis, bindings, skins, touring boots, beacon, probe, shovel, pack, training/education/certification(avalanche and probably firstaid to be safe), and buddies with all of the same stuff to save your ass

I just borrowed my brother's shit last week and went to the sawtooth's for four days. SO MUCH FUN!!! The hiking's a bitch but worth it when the snow is good. If anyone is going up anytime soon hit me up.

Skiing backcountry is awesome because the way up is as much fun as skiing down

experienced this for the first time last weekend
i want to take an avy course and get all the proper gear to go into the actual backcountry next season because its so fun
