Right vs. Left

so this sounds like a really stupid thread but i really want to know

when you get your skis mounted the tech puts on a right ski sticker (atleast at my shop), so my question is if it really makes a difference of some sort? cus usally i tear it off right when i get them

its for if you want to save a set of downhill edges so that they are sharp.its a racer thing, don't worry about it.

that makes sense. but wouldn't the tech know to just not bother putting it on a twin tip? or will people freak out if they don't put it on?

it's also to help differentiate your skis if you have some kind of damage or a special thing going on with one and not the other... doesn't help so much with skis that have a left and a right graphic though

indeed, also a small easy way of advertising. theres a wall full of other tech shop stickers next to one of our work bench's

it's actually a legal obligation. When your skis are mounted the tech has to test the binding to make sure they release within a specific torque range. so, say one toe releases at a higher torque than your other and the DIN has to be adjusted accordingly he can mark down that the left toe released high, the stickers keep the tech strait. In other words don't worry about it, it's a liability thing.
