yeah dude. after the old gibsons, gretches are my favorite guitars ever made. imho, gibson's nail them in playability, tone, and attitude, but gretches come in close second.

and the rambler is the greatest guitar gretch ever made. if they reissued it, i would have it in a second. they go for a few thousand on ebay and on the gretshpages.. every once in a while. they only ran for 5 years, 57-62. do wantttt

I'll name a couple of my key possessions, my fav is my Orange OR 50 head 40th aniversity model, the tone is killa, with a couple of pedals thrown in the mix, with either a schecter c1 classic, or my custom tele. When I get folky, I play my taylor 810e with a harmonica and tramerine or something to keep beat! Recording, I'll go to a friends house or the seattle drum school

Mexican made Fender Classic player's 60's strat in Sonic Blue. I have it in Sunburst. It's a fantastic guitar - much better than the American made version. Consider yourself lucky you spent your $800 on this instead of another make. These are Grade A guitars. I do suggest cleaning up and insides and adding 2 more springs for stability though. It'll do wonders for your tone.

Agreed. I have the 50's version and I love it to death. With a few basic tweaks the Classic Player strats are nicer than any American one's I've played. Lately I've been hankering for a 60's for its rosewood neck. Or custom Pau Ferro neck, since its malleable like rosewood but has the tonal properties of maple.

right riiight. How much of a difference does the fasel make compared to the current standard model? Right now I hate my Crybaby; it makes my tone thin as hell and it clips like no other with the slightest bit of fuzz.

I've been thinking about an Ibanez weeping demon, but I'm unsure because I can't test one anywhere. I've heard its bassier than the Crybaby, which is good. I love the deep subtle sweeps Frusciante gets with his.

That's a problem with true bypass. Look up some keeley mods or some wahs that won't ruin your tone. As far as older wahs go, yellow inductors and dimestack inductors were considered the best, fullest wahs you can get. They go for 300-500 on ebay. The Red fasel inductors were a little thinner, and more distorted sounding - not as full, but think Tales of Brave Ulysses Live at the Detroit Ballroom style wah, not Voodoo Child-sr wah. It sounds excellent with a fuzz, and I combined mine with my MegaVibe and arbiter fuzz and got some INSANE sounding mechanical filtering out of it.

oh hey this thread.

Main guitar: fender blacktop jaguar->boss tu-2-> Ibanez tubscreamer ts9-> digitech turbo flanger-> line 6 echo park delay(like a dl4 but smaller)-> livewire ab/y box that I use to jump the normal and top boost channels on my AC15, which on occasion I use with the peavey 4x12.
