so i went to the doctor today to see when ill be cleared to ski again after my fractured humerous on december26th. he told me i wont be cleared till march. kinda upset about it 400$ of season pass money down the drain spent on this years pass. anyone else in my situation?
for any of you smartasses...this isnt very humerous.
just go skiing with a cast, keep it mellow and dont fall on it. or go up and film your friends. dont be a pussy and sit around your house jerkin it till march rolls around.
spiral fractured my humerus Friday 13th June 2008 being sweet on a Kawasaki Mule.Ruined my whole summer literally. In a sling until September. Total waste of a summer but i got fkn sweet at COD. The craziest part is that i have crashed my car into a tree, broke my thumb twice, got in a fight with a buddy and haven't talked to him since, and spiral fractured my humerus all on Friday 13th's. kinda fucked up... ya bro i would call the resort and see if they will refund ur pass with proof of the date you got hurt. they might give you a break. no pun intended
That sucks bro, go back to the mountain where you bought your pass and talk with them to see if they won't refund your money due to your situation, even if the want to keep a small percent it would be nice to get some back, or just sell it
Bro Im the only one here who can relate because ive broke my humerus too. Ive skied with a broken ankle less than a week after the break so i know that its possible to ski with some injuries. if your humerus break is even remotely bad dont do it. its like having a second elbow but everytime it moves it feels like someone is putting your whole arm in a vice. The radial nerve(funny bone) runs down the humerus. If you pinch it you could end up like me with no feeling in the top of my thumb and sometimes my hand feels like its on fire. BAD IDEA take your lumps and watch some ski movies.
i fractured my humerous in 4 places long boarding in june, i coulding do anything untill septemeber. It sucks wasting ur whole summer, evenn worse ur ski season. I know u wanna ski but if u fall and break it again then ur screwd. so just try to keep it cool
One of my friends just got back on skis after her torn ACL. She was skiing for a week and on her Birthday she did her other ACL. A few days later, one of her good friends (Josh Waldron) was killed.
That is just ONE of the many many MANY people I know who are in worse situations than you (not including my own).
It's an arm. Do you ski on your hands? No.
Sorry to be an ass but you NEED to get over your pity party. You ski. You're going to get hurt.
Broke my collar bone last year early season and called the mountain that I bought my pass. I told them what happened and they gave me 300 out of 500 back and never asked for my season pass back. Turned out I was cleared to ski early March and still got to use my pass a little at the end of the year.
While this may not be HUMEROUS, it is most certainly HUMERUS. Aha, I crack myself up. Get it, humerus, cracked up? I know, too much, lol. Sorry to hear about your injury. Hopefully some humer..sorry, humor helps to lighten things up.
