Buying Snow Shoes

hey whats up guys i need to buy snow shoes for the start of my spring semester for college and i dont have a clue to buy for snow shoes i wana keep the budget to 100-150 bucks.

But my concern is size i need these shoes for many of my labs where we hike alot around woods for class and not sure, any help would be apperciated

there's a difference between snow shoes and snow boots. snow shoes are kind of like tennis rackets that you strap to your shoes to make walking over snow easier. snow boots are what lifties use so they dont get cold feet. snow shoes are for gays. snow boots can be bought from any good ski shop or mountaineering shop and they shouldn't cost you more than $150

snow shoes can be useful for backcountry access when you don't have an AT setup... not gay...

Gonna hijack this thread, but stop using the word "gay" as stupid. It just gets old, as a straight man who is related to a gay cousin, it is just a testament to your lack of knowledge if you can't find a better word than "gay".

Look at something like these:
I know that they don't look very legit because of the plastic, but I have been using a similar model of MSRs for a few years now and they are holding up quite well. This design allows them to have the metal teeth running down the sides that I find really helpful, especially on uneven terrain. Another advantage of the MSR snowshoes is you can buy tails to add onto the back to give extra floatation for deep days.

so just to thread jack real fast.. i have an avy class that i can ski down at the end of the day if i choose to. So should I a. buy snow shoes b. buy trekkers and skins or c. just rent snowshoes and dont ski down
