Why not invest the money in something that's going to give you even more money down the road? I know it's awesome to buy things when you have money but you'll probably have a lot more money if you'd invest it now, just saying.

i may be karma raped but i feel i must comment on this thread.

There shouldnt be any hate on the kid because his mom and/or dad have a well paying job and want to help out their child. we all come from different backrounds and different classes and all have things others dont. We shouldnt hate because his parent(s) have a intelligent mind and put it to use and made lots of money.

But in relevence to this thread. Buy a shitty ass car for 1000, then take a few buddys with you and road trip with 2000. I guarantee youll make memories that'l always stay with you

yeah i can get a full frame sensor camera for like 2700. the D700. ive considdered it but i feel like getting better glass would be my first priority

yeah man

maybe not buying a car..but i was thinking about doing a trip to Ultra music festival in Miami..pretty much the hugest electronic festival in the world. ill stay at my house in palm beach but all i need to do is rent a car and get concert tickets and plane tickets for the week. it would cost me prob 800 which isnt terrible

Dude, don't just go on a spending binge because you have the money. It's great your parents are paying for college, but there are other things you may need that for financially. While you might not realize it now, in the future that money could come in handy. Don't go LOOKING for things to buy, just wait and see if you see something you REALLY like comes along and then you can buy it. But don't buy things just for the sake of buying things.

im guessing their gona hook you up with spending money too? save some of that man, college is sooo expensive and im just talking about spending money, minimum 100 a week and thats without going out to much, 1 fill up for the car, 1 movie, 1 dinner out, and a 30 and youre well over 100 bucks a weeks allready, realisticly your on ns and going to college, im assuming youre looking at an 1/8th and 2 30's a week minimum, and thats lowballing it, moral of the story....college is expensive be self reliant youre growing up, save some of that money for a rainy day, or send some my way if you have any extra lying around

theres some sound advice in this thread about saving money, which is key. it doesn't matter if you parents make a lot of money, are you going to suckle that tit forever? Learning to save money is absolutely key in life. Iv got a lot of friends like you, as soon as their bank has a balance they drain it. or worse, go in debt buying on plastic. I look at all my friends with nothing (expensive cloths, shoes, computers, the latest phone is all useless crap) and most of them still living at home. fuck that. my parents taught me the importance of saving an hard work and im looking at buying my first house, thats not even on the radar for people like you. But its your money, do whatever you want with it, i know what id do, and it sure wouldn't be spending it.

or i guess since you are into the electric music scene spend it on some good editing software and hardware, i got buddy in a similar situation as you, he bought turntables and monitors was planning on taking dj school then just left for Australia 3 months ago with a 1 way ticket. he still isnt back
