Halp broken phone, nsg,

So this morning, as I was doing my daily morning routines, I sat my phone up on my mini bar which is roughly 4 feet from a hard tile floor. As I was setting down my toothbrush, I accidentaly knocked my phone rather hard off of the mini bar to its death on a cold hard tile floor. Needless to say, I was a bit in shock and heart broken. That phone has been with me for almost 2 ski seasons now and it has seen some of my most memorable moments. +

Before I knocked it off, The screen appeared fine (as it should), But when I went to check on it after it fell, the screen was black and the only things that appeared are these blue-ish turqouise looking lines. If it helps, my phone is a samsung rouge. I just want to make sure if it is repairable or not or if it is toast. I really don't want to get a new phone or number.

try using speed dial to call someone to see if it's just the screen thats broken.

Its just the screen. I just tried callling speed dial and it works. Would I have to send it in with the verizon insurance program thing?

if you have insurance then verizon will send you a new phone for free.

Sounds to me like the phone itself might be a goner.

However, to be sure,  try bringing it in to a dealer and getting it checked out. They will probably be able to recover photos/contacts.. etc.

You def dont have to get a new number if you don't want to. You can easilly switch it over to a new phone.

If just the screen is broken then your shit is all saved.

Just bring it in to them, see what they can do.

if you have an old phone that still has a working battery you can either have the company put all your contacts/pictures from your broken phone to a SD card and have them transfer it to the old phone or just buy a new phone. But i would have them check it out anyway as they would be more resourceful.

see if you can cop a replacement screen off of amazon or ebay. if not, see if you can find a parts phone - I'll fix your screen for free if you send me the parts. I do this shit all of the time. I've replaced screens on damn near every phone on the market.

Its a cracked screen for sure. Its pretty bad, too. Should I just take it into the store and seeif they can replace the screen? I will need it back by the weekend too.

I'd go there first. If you dont' have insurance, they probably aren't going to do anything for you and you will probably have to buy a new phone. If you don't qualify for an upgrade, that could be pretty expensive.

If that ends up being the case, try and get a temporary phone of some sort to use in the interim and send me the stuff I mentioned. I'll pull out the broken screen and drop in a new screen. Only thing you have to pay is the shipping and parts...I'd fix it for free.

I have the insurance program. They cover accidental breaks and falls. The screens just really fucking cracked on it and it doesnt show anything up on the screen. I'm pretty positive its just the screen being really cracked and not an internal part issue. If it is, I am okay with getting a new phone if it is eligible for an upgrade. I've had this phone for almost 2 years now.

cool - just take it in then. worst case scenario is you'll have to pay a $50 deductible. If they charge you that, just upgrade it. At least that's what I'd do.

I had a rogue that the screen was completely shattered i brought it back to the verizon store and viola new phone with all my contacts and same number fo free. i suggest doing the same instead of tampering with it and trying to fix it.
