Apple's announcement of Steve Jobs' medical leave just one day before releasing its Q1 financial results struck us as well-planned yesterday, and here we are: if Cupertino's record $6 billion profit on a record $26.7 billion in revenue isn't enough to turn that frown -- and stock slide -- upside down, well, nothing else will. iPhone 4 sales were predictably strong through the holidays, clocking in at a record 16.2m units, or up 86 percent from last year, while Mac sales went up 23 percent to a record 4.13m and iPod sales were stronger than expected at 19.45m, a seven percent decline. As for the iPad, Apple's tablet had its second straight dominant quarter, with record sales of 7.33 million -- some 3 million more than the Mac
i wouldnt be the slightest bit worried to dump a good amount of money on apples stock even at $340 per share. I remember being in high school thinking Google's price of $250 was insane, but it sits high at $639 per share.
apple will continue to rein supreme and push the technology business, even when they come out with products which seems people will never find useful or considered a need. They still make profit number like the ones shown above.
came out with the ipad and everyone said it wouldnt be a good product put now every company is trying to quickly push out a tablet to compete with the ipad.
Theres some dude in my city with 700 million in Apple. Smart ass guy in my opinion. On the other side of things idk why everyone is so scared that Jobs is going, Apple is still there and so are the people with ideas; I mean its not all Steve Job's ideas right?
Who knows? Everyone scrambled to make their own versions as soon as the iPhone came out. Even with all the issues the first iPhone had, it destroyed everything Blackberry had put out at that time.
fun fact. Google's Android was going to be more like a BlackBerry OS before the iPhone came out. Once the iPhone hit the market, Google went back to the drawing board to create the OS we knowknow as Android.
