Best tricks for competitions

what do u think are some of the easier and best tricks (rail and jump) for competitions that will help to win??  nothing too crazy like over 900 or flips on rails.  stuff that can be done on a 20-35 foot jump

cork 180 is steez.
pretty much anything with a great grab will score points. just practice that

is this competition at bristol? if so, the first big jump you could spin up to 7 with a grab and still have style. second big jump, cork 9 or 10 could be possible

nah not at bristol, the hpe jam at hunt hollow, the one at bristol is mad expensive and its just big air not to mention no inverts

word I might be doing that too. Depends on how my leg is after the free flow tour at HV. HH allows inverts?!?!?!?!

i never know if judges look for tech or style. would they rather see a 7 or are grabbed 3? and i never know what box and rail tricks impress them

yea they do, HH is private so i guess they have different insurance then bristol

lets put it this way: HH's park sucks bigtime compared to bristol's, i dont think its up yet either, the only good setup all year is the hopejam

our park at HH just opened kinda, we have 1 booter and 1 tabletop, both under 20ft. no rails so far. and yes we allow inverts. hopefully it wont rain this year during hope jam

no rails? damn bristol already has a 45 and 55ish footer and most rails. (for those local kids disputing about measurements, I talked to the park supervisor, aka the guy who makes the features while Tom is in Austria; he said the jumps are measured from chalk line on the lip to the knuckle.)

take a look at the judges, if they look like gapers, spin as hard as you fucking can. on rails dont do pretzels or other fancy shit. just spin in and spin the fuck out. you will win competitions like this.

Depending on what division you are competeting in and what organization is holding the comp, most of the judges score on consistentcy, execution, landing, technicality and other things. Do whatever you want.

Make sure your run is smoothe and consistent. if the comp is two run format make sure your first one is just a smooth run that you can put down every time, then go all out on your second. This way if you crash you can still fall back on your first run score. The slopestyle course at my mountain is a down bar and into three poppy 15 footers (small as fuck) into a 30. For example My run is 270 on, blunt three(carved in like a thug) underflip scossor safety, switch rodeo 5 japan, cork 7/9 havn't really figured out which grab to get with it. Just make sure your run is both clean and technical. Have a mixture of switch and regular tricks, and have a mixture of grabs.

thanks that sounds sick, but this competition is a park jam, they have some "shelves": rails first , then jumps, then other stuff, then pipe.  they just break it up, only problem is juges arnt watching u all the time so if u throw somthin sick, they can miss it

Oh so its more of a jam style thing/ more of a fun comp? But i geuss just do a bunch of tricks you can do pretty consistently with style. Judges arent impressed by sombody who can land one big trick in an hour as compared to a bunch of good clean tricks.

Sadly dead on.  In a fair amout of ski/snowboard comps you will only have 'snowboard' judges that usually can't even judge snowboarding well.  Spin that shit to win that shit
