skimboarding blows ass. You need both perfect conditions/have to be damned good to actually get out and ride waves. I just spent a week in the outer banks with people that were skimmin, and they pretty much stood there waiting for a decent wave, struggled to get to it, then usually fell in a half foot of water. And it's not like they sucked at it either.

Riding the skim at low tide can be fun for a while, but if you want to ride shit like they do in skim movies, you better live in so cal or some shit.

Skimming is sweet. Since I'm landlocked, I'm reduced to skimming in a pool with a body board, but it helps imensely with balance for other sports, but it's also very hard to throw down anything considering that there are no waves and you sink unless you have one big-ass board.

you get good rides in mass? are you talking about on the beach, or actually getting out and riding a wave. because skimming along the beach on half an inch of water is easy, but catching a wave and riding it is a whole different story.

wow i dunno what it would be like to be landlocked.. there are places here in New Zealand where you can be like 15 min from the mountain and like 1 hour from the ocean for the surf... it kicks ass.

i live on the ocean and like 3 hours from the mountain tho
