California Superstorm

So there this supposed "Superstorm" coming and potentially destroying california. it's supposed to dump a whole 10 FEET OF RAIN over a 40 day period. And if the weather is cold enough and it snows in mammoth or what not, won't that be like 40 ft of snow...

If this happens shit will be crazy

40 feet of snow? Who the hell are you kidding? 120 feet of snow. And that's at my resort just east of Fresno. Mammoth could be seeing 130. 120 is about max if it does snow and the conditions are right. However, we only get a foot of rain in a whole year, AT MOST. Ten inches is about average. 10 feet of rain, central California is just fucked, no crops, farmland is devestaded for years to come (billions of dollars a year are made through central valley farming), millions of peiople are fucked, and the mountain communities, well, those rednecks are fucked hard. Doubt a storm like that happens though. Five feet of rain sounds a little more realistic. Then the Spring runoff. California is just fucked.

^ yeah I just double check after I posted and its 6-12 inches of snow per 1 inch of rain.

forgot the money loss in ski towns, if that much falls everyones gonna die...well not really but still it's gonna cause trouble.

and damn is it really a re-post? i could have sworn i didn't see it anywhere else.

hahaha i just remember commenting on the other one yesterday. it would be really fun for a few days. but after that it would kinda suck. but on the other hand, might it allow mammoth to stay open all summer like hood?

but also gotta think that its not all at once. thats like 3 ft of pow a day which would be crazy and sorta nice depending on how wet or dry it is.

After they dig their mangled lifts out. The three feet a day would be dope until the resort couldn't keep up with it. My mountain got nine feet in like four or five days and struggled to run lifts on time and get all of them going, specifically after receiving three feet in 12 hours. The power went down and cell towers died. It was tough.
