Growing A Pair

Since im new to freestyle, and am looking to learn how to do some basic moves (360's) and hitting rails, I get real nervous and usually back off, especially attempting a 360. How can i grow a pair and stop being so scared? any tips would be appreciated

I cannot stress this enough, get a friend to psych you up! Its best if they can do some fancy shit and just come over to you beforehand and say go for it. Made all the difference to me getting 3s. And secondly, commit. I know everyone says it, but make sure if you got for a 3, you try to keep spinnning at 180. You cannot prepare yourself for it, but when you get to the lip and start to spin you will hit 180, and might think "oh im safe i can stop spinning now", but keep that head round and keep turning and you WILL stomp that 3.

Oh and make sure when you pop you get forward, otherwise you will land backseat which looks so unsteezy it hurts. Landing properly and then afterbanging is cool, backseat afterbanging sucks.

Fuck it and huck it.
After you fall for the first time doing it, you realize how easy a 3 actually is. I was nervous as hell but then I just threw it and was stoked for the rest of the week.

when i look at a jump and think in my head i want to do a new trick figure out the trick. dont think about it. just go up and commit fully to ur trick. or else u will get nervous

I agree with this for simple tricks like a 360 but I know when I was learning inverted tricks like lincolns under flips rodeos etc it helped zoo much having someone tell me in person how to do it so I know exactly what I'm doing

there isnt really something thats gonna make you get over it or stop being a pussy, you straight up just have to say fuck it and do it. also the longer you sit there and wait to drop in thinking about a trick,the more you think about it, the scarier it gets.

start off small, throw some 180's and slide the smallest rails or boxes you can find. then once you are feeling confident find someone who is throwing some basic 3's. watch them, get inspired, and go giveer nuts!   (i personally did 180's, then 270's laning sadiways on the snow, and then threes)

if you want to get yourself psyched enough to do it then just clear your head. think about 1 or 2 things at the absolute most and go for it.

so for a 360 i think "set" and "pop"

for a rail id recommend "pop" and "hit with both feet at the same time"

but seriously, just go for it.  unless its a 60 fotter and your trying to backflip it, you will not get hurt bad.    even on rails, sacking usually doesnt hurt as bad as it looks (for me anyways, maybe i need to grow a pair, haha).  just et all comfy with straight airs and grabs, then hit the jump with little speed and spin.  dont matted if you knuckle, its feels great when you spin your first real jump.
