Smith I/Os fogging up

i love my I/Os but the inside of the lens is prone to fogging up. happens when i wear my bandana over my mouth without tucking it into the bottom of my goggles and my breath goes up through the vents. also happens when im hiking a feature and my face heats up too much. i can clear it by taking them off for a little while but i thought they were supposed to be impossible to fog up.

has anyone found a fix for this? would it help if i just bought a new lens?

one other thing too.....does anyone have the dark green lens?? whats it like in medium light, as opposed to really bright sunshine??

I was just going to make a thread about this. My old i/os are fine, with the stock lenses it came with. but I bought the CRJ memorial goggles and the day lens it came with keeps fogging, and so does the red sol-x mirror lens I bought separately. Is the fog you have on the inside and you can't wipe it away? is it as if it's in the actual lens...?

you have probably wiped the inside of your lens at some time, which causes the goggle to fog more often.

Are they fogging at the top or bottom of the lense? Do you wear a helmet? What kind is it? A lot of times, if there isnt good venting on the helmet, your goggles will fog up. I know that when I wore my bern and I/O they would sometime fog along the top of the gog.

Wiping the lenses in smith goggles doesnt make a difference - they dont use an anti fog coating, the anti fog is actually ingrained into the lense so you cant rub it off.

I would check that you have adequate ventilation out of the top of the goggles, look into buying a smith helmet if possible since they have special airways to make sure your gogs never fog.

I have this problem too!  It fogs between the two lenses, and I've noticed it happens a lot when my face gets hot.  I have no idea what to do

yes! I was sweating yesterday, not profusely, but I was very hot, and it wouldnt stay unfogged.

Had this problem as well with my I/Os they would fog up after a tree run then would freeze on the lift back up, real pain in the ass makes me want to maybe switch goggles

thanks for the help guys. as for the helmet, its a giro shiv. best helmet ive ever owned btw.

with the shiv i always leave a small gap above the goggles so i have some ventilation. i think its more an issue of my face getting hot, which i thought the anti fog treatment would still cope with. turns out it cant.

when i wear my face mask i tuck it under the goggles. that forms a seal which means my breath can only go down, and not up into the vents. that helps a lot, but if im hiking a feature and my face gets hot the lens fogs up like a bitch. id love to be able to fix that..
