Whats the term for a 360 backflip?

Throw in pretty much any grab and you can call it d spin 7 to make it sound cooler.

This is what I was about to say. Start doing really bad back fulls and they will turn into either a rodeo seven or a d spin seven.

a d-spin 7 is a backflip + 360, same as back full essentially.

its called a 7 because you're doing 360 on the y-axis and 360 on the x-axis (i.e. a backflip is a 360 also, jus a diff axis).

take a rodeo 7 for instance, you're not actually spinning 7, but your doing more of a 180 while rolling onto your back, backflip, then another 180 out.

i had the same question as this thread. but does it have a diff name if you start a backflip then spin in a 360 versus if you start a 360 and then throw in a backflip?

think about how a dspin would look in relation to an on-axis spin. you are doing a full 720 just off-axis. it's weird to wrap your head around.

I think you're correct based on my viewing of super old school footy, but maybe someone will have to dig up someone from the 1970's freestyle circuit to settle this debate to everyone's satisfaction.

Next time someone who rides at WV is heading home they should drop in to Nick Preston's place and ask him..

It was spelled mobius and it was the holy grail of tricks back in the 70's.  If you could land a mobius you had reached self actualization.  It is the same rotation as a D-Spin, but feels like a completely different trick. 

Back then, layout was the default position in the air.  You started laid out and only bent your legs if you were going to come up short, because nobody was trying to grab.  New School school is the opposite with the default being bent legs and/or bent waste early in the trick. 

I want to try a d-spin this season, but at this point I have only done them off of the diving board.  IMO a d-spin is way easier to do than a mobius.  The spin actually seems to help the flip in a d-spin because you are throwing your shoulders into it early.  In a mobius it feels like the spin and the flip are almost working against each other.  A mobius started like a laid out back flip and then you threw your shoulders into the spin a little before you were completely inverted.  You had to spin faster than you flipped to catch up.  the common problem was that you would finish the flip but land at 270.  I never landed one, so I am still working on Self Esteem.  :-)

way too much splitting hairs in tricks names in skiing. aerialists would call it a back full, newer guys would probably call it a d spin 7 (inverted cork 7)

im pretty sure on-axis,(wich looks gay, and is for mougles ) is back full.

off axis is d-spin 720

if u do the first 180 with the off-axis flip then the other when ur not inverted (twards the end) its a rodeo 720
