4x5 camera

tape up all the openings, hinges, ect with black electrical tape...thats what i did with my 16mm camera

ok so u just stuck a flash light in the belwos(sp?) and in most of the corners there are holes, should i just use black tape, can i just buy new ones? its a mono-rail, studio camera if that helps.

Black electrical tape, although sufficient to get rid of light leaks, leaves a nasty fucking gunk on your camera. Maybe consider gaffers tape. It comes off cleaner.

i actualy used black nail polish, but if that dosent last i have some tape thats made for fixin the bellows

what ever you do, do NOT use black electrical tape, Use only Gaffers tape, it is designed specifically for making sure cameras are light tight. Any one that sugests using black electrical tape doesnt know what the hell they are dooing.

i have been told i have a decent camera, its not mine, i barrowed it from my school for the summer............it's a toyo view. does any one know any thing about it?(its a mono-rail camera)

Toyo, do you know wich model??? Either way, the only one that really sucks ass is the newer plastic one, if it is a metal one and has all of the movements then it is probally going to be just fine, the only real difference between the metal versions is the higher end ones can have more accesories attached to it, such as a binocular viewer on hte back, and bag bellows for a ultra wide lense etc.

4x5 is fun, and it will teach you a lot, i have had both the monorail styles and the field camera style, and can say is personally the field camera is way more usefull, in that it can be backpacked with etc, but the monorail version has the advantages of having more percise controls for still life / product shots, and for doing more architecture types of shots.

ok so i checked my bellows again and i need to use some gaffers tape, whare can i get some of this stuff? and how much is it?

ok i just fixed it and its light tight, i think im gona go shoot some pics with it tomarrow. im relly excited. thnaks for the info.
