I use sony vegas hd 10, not free but you can find a torrent pretty easily.

Convert the footage and use movie maker? If not try and get a download or something for Adobe Premier Pro or Sony Vegas.

it will and its much better than vegas
premiere elements 8 if you want something easier to use or premiere pro cs5 if you have experience

i have cs4 and it wont open gopro shots at all. Vegas pro 9.0 works but there are rendering issue sometimes. Need lots of ram to make it happen

convert your files from MP4 to WMV (quick free program download on the net google seach it) and import them to windows movie maker....just figured it out lastnight im stoked it works great!
