Pc problems +K

i just bought my first camera a few days ago because i really want to get into filming. I bought a canon HV20 off of ns and i really like it but i have a pc and i cant upload my videos. I talked to the kid i bought it from and he said that i could buy an adapter for the camera, but when i went to radioshack today to see if they had one they said its not possible to go from firewire to pc. what can do to upload my videos to my computer? did i just waste $300???

I don't really understand your problem - why is firewire/usb connection to pc not working?

I believe this is all you need, firewire to usb. Plug the firewire side into cam, the usb into computer.
