I got mine out on tuesday, Its now friday and i had no swelling, no pain at all. Honestly its like you can't even tell i had them out. 3/4 were impacted, my impacted ones look healed up nicely already from the stitches. the one that wasn't impacted is just a gaping hole really.


I was doing a lot of reading online and its pretty much different for everyone. Some people have horror stories where they are swollen, black and blue and can't eat for days. Others are like me, no pain, no swelling, and i can eat pretty normal now.


if your a smoker, deff. wait at least 2-3 days, and if your gonna smoke use a gravity bong so you don't get dry socket from suction.

i got dumped by my girlfriend the morning i got mine out, then spent the next week in extreme pain because i was allergic to all the pain meds they gave me. So on top of the basic tooth pain, i was also violently ill due to the meds.

Generally consider it to be the worst week of my life.

my brother had to get all four removed, but he was allergic to the anesthetic. don't remember if they just gassed him or what. but he was then on percocet for a while. enjoy.

i for one, have no wisdom teeth, as in, never had to have any removed. :D natural select THAT.

i fucking loved getting my wisdom teeth out. the next few days for me were pain free, i was tripping balls on percocet, its was a blur. straight up, i loved it.

dont go shopping after when your still numb, i got mine out this summer and went into a store to buy "stuff for my suumer setup" as  i said and got 40$ of shit that i have no clue what it was gona be used for, like a curtin rod and glass plates

getting mine out on monday morning, and driving to tahoe to go skiing in tahoe on tuesday...im bringing muscle milk RTD's and vicodin...cant smoke weed cause of job stuff.


should be interesting...



anyone think this is a terrible idea? Ive skied a few days after breaking my hand...with poles, so i know that my pain tolerance is pretty high(never realized how much i actually do use my poles haha). Speak now or forever hold your peace.

any helpful hints would be appreciated.

You could learn how to spell wisdom.  Actually was thinking that they may have started the anesthesia a little early.

I had the same deal in high school.  All impacted and all removed at the same time.  I had it done in Vail and they said they couldn't use gas at altitude so I got Codeine and Valium.  During the surgery I remember seeing the dentist pulling my teeth out.  Actually it was more like just crushing them and sucking out the debris.  The weird thing was that I was watching him doing this from behind and above him.  I had perfect memories of the whole thing, but it was like I was standing looking over his shoulder.   

It's after the surgery that it really sucks.  Big wads of gauze in your mouth and someone is supposed to keep you awake until the drugs wear off.  You're still bleeding like crazy and the dentist will tell you to try hard not to swallow the blood.  He told me that if I swallowed too much I would throw up.

Hopefully you won't read this until it's over. :-D

I failed.  Didn't read date. 

It's not so much the pain as just feeling like you got run over by a truck the next day.  You may not feel like doing much of anything; vicodin or not.

I had all of mine out back in august impacted and 3 days later i got dry socket which is more painful than breaking bones or anything you will ever get in your life. I sneezed and the clots came out of the bottom 2 sockets, try not to sneeze or you could get dry socket. Then i got strep throat so all in all my wisdom tooth extraction was an awful experience.

i hit the nurse because they give you a tee and i said yelling i want a tall tee i want a tall tee started crying then say a girls shirt bright gril rolled down my window and said hew geip nie shit yur gut and on the way home got pulled over by the cops and i freaked out he let us go

Yeah, ill add to this, dry sockets suck! what ever you do you do not want them i had two and its one of the worst pains of my life. do not smoke or use a straw man its bad.

having my wisdom teeth out was unreal. i was on percocet, which probably made it better, but i was in the clouds for a solid 3 days

i just listened to music, watched cartoons and play age of empires. it could not have been more fun.

Ahhh all these stories are freaking me out. I have to get mine out in the summer (still a few months) but so far all I've heard are the bad stories (minus like two I read here) and I hate blood so this should be an interesting experience overall.

on a sidenote, percs make me sick, and i need higher dosage vicodin due to a high tolerance...what other meds can you recomend?

i honestly wish i could get mine out again it was kind of fun. apparently when i woke up i was trying to hit on the girl behind the front desk but i just ended up drooling blood. spit on some car while being driven home, fell down the stairs, then played xbox for a few days

Forgot that i made this thread but since it was bumped... Mine went smoothly with very little pain and i was healed in a week. Not close to as bad as i thought it would be.
