what do you people think? Seeing as the Jets needed a last second field goal to squeak out a win against a Colts team decimated by injuries, and given the fact that Sanchez played atrociously against a JV defense full of third stringers, I am going to go ahead and say that the Jets are going to get smoked... again. LT has always been a fucking pussy in the playoffs, especially against the Pats, and Sanchez isn't fit to carry Tom Brady's jockstrap. The Patriots have hit their stride at the perfect moment in the season. Brady is having an ungodly year, BJGE has eclipsed the 1000 yard mark, and noname Danny Woodhead has quietly amassed over 1000 all purpose yards. The Pats defense has been killing it, guys like McCourty and Deadrick have been clutch. It's hilarious that this much vaunted Jets defense has not been able to hold a candle to the Pats D of late. Revis is overrated, LT was, is, and always will be a first class bitch, and Antonio Cromagnon got torched last time these teams played. Jets score 14, Pats rack up at least 35.
ok, so the "cheating" only worked during the postseason? your an idiot. Jimmy Johnson (former cowboys coach during the 90s) said he did the same thing the patriots did and so did everybody else.
I am actually stunned that the patriots lost though. fuckkkkk, its like their turning into the colts.
the only thing im mad at is the patriots. i completely expected this to be a good game and even though they only lost by a touchdown, they were totally outplayed. The Jets played phenomenal defense while the Pats played horrific on offense. Brady sucked and could make the throws on third down and held the ball for too long.
Sparknotes: the pats played a shitty game and deserved to lose and im pissed
i can't believe the pats lost this.. They couldn't perform. Brady was pissing me off the whole time. Not only did he hold on the ball forever, but when he did get rid of it, he just threw it away. And.. they spent like 6 min in the 4th quarter just using rushing plays, taking they're time even tho they didn't get any points that possession and ended up with 2 mins left on the clock. i don't know what happened to them, but they played like shit. END OF STORY
No fuck face you just can't read. They have lost 3 consecutive games . First they lost to the giants, then the ravens last year, and now the Jets..........nice try though
...thank you for proving my point. revis does his job better than any other player in the league. i am 100% sure you weren't paying attention to what the jets were doing on defense, cause revis did his job flawlessly, as usual. i mean, if you're just gonna base your assumptions on how a corner played based on total generalizations and the 2 times per game they get mentioned (which is what 99% of fans and 95% of "analysts" do) you'd have seen that he pretty much ghosted a guy on every play he was in man coverage. patriot receivers had 12 catches yesterday, and the vast majority of those were on dink and dunk underneath routes which revis played no part in. and like 5 were in garbage time.
I was there for the game, didn't watch any analysis or anything, and I'm not denying that Revis played fairly well for a corner. However, by the lofty standards that he has set for himself, and reasonably so, he didn't play well by them. From memory, I'd say Branch had a maybe 4 or 5 catches, and could have had more if Brady didn't play so badly. I also particularly remember a play where Branch made a catch and Revis missed a fairly easy tackle - he had his arms around Branch, and Branch got away for a fairly important first down. Revis didn't play his best this game.
when the jets play teams without true number 1 receivers, they send revis all over the field. he embarrassed branch on most of the plays where branch was his assignment. sometimes they have him guard the slot guy, sometimes they have him in zone. it's kind of hard to judge revis on a game like this just by looking at stats. and i think the missed tackle you're referring to was eric smith, i remember a very similar play and it was smith.
asamouagha is also freaking terrific. revis is still better, and as good as woodson is, he doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as asamouagha and revis. revis' year last year was the best season EVER by a cornerback, and asamouagha's season 2 years ago was probably a close second. when you look at what asamouagha does against the really elite receivers compared to what revis does to them, it's not close. revis wins that comparison every time, and usually without ANY safety help. they bait the other team to throw it at revis' man, and it still doesn't work. in addition to totally eliminating a threat every game, he also forces the other offense to waste plays.
