What? Why? I graduate college in 2012. I know the world will not end in 2012, but if it did I'm cool with that because the world would have just ended after the best 4 years of my life (and the best 4 years I'll ever experience).

i honestly cant wait for 2012. i know it sounds wrong, but a world scare like that is interesting to me. theres gonna be so much crime/crazy shit going on. regardless if it happens or not, the world is gonna be impacted in a negative way.

Well, it's not really a religious calendar. More based off math and science and astronomy.

Anyway, the calendar doesn't end. It just says its the beginning of a new age..... The Age of Aquarius. Some things correspond with this... reversing of the poles and so forth. Really not a big deal.

Although historically, each new age has brought on a new leading religion. Can easily be coincidence.

But the Mayans have been historically accurate for more than a thousand years. Us awesome americans just so happened to misinterpret the calendar and have it end up in a really awesome famous documentry that was shown to middle schools around the world.

I don't think it's going to end but i reakon some change will occour to earth. Mayans could predict solar eclipses and other lunar events up to this day correctly, they have an extremely good track record of getting predictions right. Other oracles on the other side of the world also predicted world change for the same time period, who also have good track records of correct predictions. Apparently there will be a polar shifts, theres evidence that this has happened 3 times  before. If that does happen shit will get f****d up in the process. The Planet Nibiru that was only discovered about 20 years ago will come between us and the sun which will apparently stop the earth from rotating for a while and cause the polar shift. Einstien proposed the process of polar shift also. we wont all die but something will happen :/

that's just my two cents

Whhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. Where on earth did you hear all this? Yes, the Mayans were accurate when predicting the movements of celestial bodies (although, not as good as we are now). Yes, the Magnetic Poles swap on occasion (they have more than 3 times) but that is a process that takes hundreds, if not thousands, of years. I have never heard of the planet Nibiru and if it had an orbit between us and the sun it's eclipse would not cause the earth to stop rotating. If the earth stopped rotating, the Poles wouldn't swap, they would cease to exist as the outer core of the planet slowly spun to a halt. If that happened, we'd all be screwed from the solar wind.

I'm curious to know if they also predicted this whole japan thing. obviously not the full extent of it, but if they wrote anything down about a big earthquake/tsunami during the same time?

because i'm pretty sure they predicted something about the thailand tsunami, i could be wrong.

Well...

Doesn't seem to have the cards stacked in it's favor. If there was a planet-sized object headed for earth I'd imagine we'd know more about it. With an object that large we could when, and where it would hit.

However, we aren't impervious to impact from large space debris.
If we can estimate the path of a near space object of this size, we would know if a planet was going to hit us in the foreseeable future.

everything that i've read doesn't say it will actually hit us.... it claims it will move between us and the sun and then blocking us from the view of blackwhole in the milkyway which "apparently" has importance as it gives us "energy" which according to Nasa is the galatic centre or something
