At Rowen's suggestion, I'll start this thread off (even though I don't have an orange name).
Injury: Compression fractures at T4-5; incomplete spinal cord lesion.
How: DH biking. Bounced a landing and got tossed head-first into a tree.
When: October 2010
Surgeon work: spinal fusion T2-T8. Two rods, 12 screws + cadaver bone to help vertebrae fuse. (permanent)
Time to back on skis: 3 months, 7 days.
Injury: Broken femur.
How: DH biking. Overshot a big jump and landed flat.
When: September 2005
Surgeon work: 1 rod, 3 screws (removed after 6 months)
Time to back on skis: 10 weeks.
