g37xs sedan. its a pretty gorgeous car, quick too. but its so fucking heavy. and the nav/voice command system is terrible.

There were rumors floating around that Nissan was looking to get AMG to work with Infinity because they are seriously lacking in the engine department compared to other companies. But I dont think its going to happen

As far as factory performance yeah. Infinity is the luxury division and has to compete with the Audi, Mercedes, and BMW. All which have performance lines. They want to get into that market but can't because they have nothing to compete with the RS/S, AMG and M lines.

I'd get it because the 3.5 sounds like a poor man's ferrari, and the 3.7 aside from being a vibration monster is also a VERY strong motor for its size...  But that's just me.  I've had enough of tearing up front fascias because the roads suck, etc. to lay a car down like that again.

... infiniti's engine is nissan...... and no theyre not lacking in engine department, as a fact the vq35 engine series is one of the BEST engines ever made, hell its lighter than a sr20det. man when i look at this thread here, the NS population doesnt know shit like this from the back of the hand. excuse my nissan whiz pryin outta me.

The reason the VQ35DE is hard to work with is because its a fairly new engine, Sasha from SG Motorsport was able to squeeze 336 whp from the engine by doing Intake, Nismo cams, long tube headers, and 3.5 inch exhaust, thats 110 whp over stock. The stock internal can handle up to 450 whp, the reason i chose the G sedan over the coupe and Z is appearance, I don't have all the evo/sti kids rolling up on me and wanting to race, as well as getting the gun pointed at me at every single cop sighting. To the majority of the population the sedan is a sleeper, like the Audi S4, unless you put a Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 Exhaust and ART Pipes. When the HR engine was released, it became more popular because you could do the same mods to an engine that is already breathing better, revs higher, and runs smoother than the DE. Now, The G having a longer wheelbase allowed for the engine to be placed behind the front axle giving it a closer 50/50 weight ratio (52/48), better aerodynamics than the Z and only 200 lbs heavier, truth is the sedan is lighter than the coupe, only by 100 lbs, that means the coupe is 300 lbs heavier than the Z. I love my G sedan, unfortunately mods are a bit expensive for it and even tougher to find something that really works for your hard earned money.

G35's are nicer than the 37's imo..
also i was pretty pissed about some car reviews how they compared a 335i (luxury) against the g37.
M3=G37 for sports preformance.

How much is insurance on a G35 ?

if you would like to see a correct engine of similar size how about e46 m3- the car itself isnt the greatest but it puts out over 1hp per .01 litre- something not many non turbo cars can accomplish - and it can actually rev freely and high-

that is a good na motor- vq35 is a good strong motor yes- but for christs sake dont call it one of the best motors on the planet

I mean hell I can put down 550 awhp on my 2,7 litre motor without doing anything to the motor except for fueling

I think of it as one of the best motors for reliability, not performance. The fact that you can go to 450 whp with the stock internals is better than other all aluminum engines. the e46 is a beast, but the reason for buying a G is because majority of people cant afford a $50-$70k car. The vq was designed with that in mind, its not a luxury car but it is nicer than a acura tl, or even a lexus is 300. Heck if i put a tt setup in the G, i can take it up to 700whp, look at tim tranks black G, that thing is insane

Well guys the Mod Bug has now bitten, I will post pics while stock as soon as I wash the car, I will be creating a progression thread for your enjoyment. I will consider input from you guys and gals as long as it isn't some ricer/F&F suggestion.

i dont get what the point of lowering a car to an inch off the ground, what happens when you hit a pot hole and rip off the $600 body kit you just bought, it just kinda seems pointless to me. id rather drive my JEEP any day

Raced a g35 on 89 south and I was actually quicker on the jump but the thing ended up smoking me ( I also didn't feel lime getting pulled over for over for doing 135).
