GoPro SD not clearing-ful

I have continually deleted everything off of my gopro, and I turn it on and start recording, and it says "ful". My buddy told me I have to reformat the card, but I have no idea what that means. Can someone help me because I am sure this has happened to other people as well.
Oh, and I searchbarred so don't give me shit.

just delete it via gopro. If you delete the files on the computer they won't full delete from the gopro. Turn the camera on when it's not connected, under the settings menu when it says "all" click down on the top button, click it again when "all" is blinking and all the shots will delete

sometimes you have to empty your trash after the files go in them for it recognize that the card is empty

Wow I feel so stupid. I hit the all button like 30 times but I didn't know you had to hit it again when it was blinking. Thank you sir.
