Sitting for sure, standing is for outdoors defacation and questionable receptacles like the porter potties at woodstock 99. I KNOW MAN I WAS THERE!!!!!(crazy vietnam vet voice)

The real question is how can we possibly combat the always dreadful splashback?

obviously sitting is the correct method as many in this thread have changed over mid life from standing to sitting, however no one has made the claim to doing the opposite.

Yeah, but its not like it sneaks up on you... Public toilets = hold 'er up. Thank God my shitter at home has lower water level or something... Nothing worse than cold, wet dunkage first thing in the morning. Ugh.

No. If you were supposed to shit standing up, they wouldn't put seats on the toilet... It would just be a urinal with a more powerful flush... But I did see an asian man shitting in a urinal once in a bar in Rhode Island, which kinda blew my mind as he didn't seem hammered- or akward in the least. He was just tearin' it up in a very matter-of-fact way which was kind of poop gangster I guess...
