newschoolers casey and snobunny are engaged to be married...he made it official with a giant black diamond-- how appropriate!

if your talking about my comment Black diamonds are also called carbonados and are just one example of colored stones available. They are created by squeezing carbon atoms less than a billion years ago so they are generally younger than the standard diamond.

The black diamond price is high due to itâ�?��?�s ‘rarity’. I put that in quotes as, in fact black diamonds are not that rare at all really. At least not in comparison to other colored diamonds. The rarity is somewhat artificial as DeBeers owns most of the black diamonds in the world and tends to hoard them, as it does with many diamonds, in order to keep the price high.

Black diamonds can be quite beautiful and striking in the right setting and make ideal rings and pendants. Black diamonds can look striking with gold or silver and platinum. A proper setting should be used to hold the diamond firmly in place. A claw setting is better that a glue setting., Glue can deteriorate and the ring fall out and that is the sort of shock one can do without.

Black diamonds come under the same banner for grading as other diamonds. You do need to have an authentic verification of the diamond to ensure it is, in fact, a black diamond and not an imitation or fake. A proper certificate of appraisal is important to ensure that you are getting the genuine article, from an independent gemological laboratory is vital.

It is well worth the cost, especially with an expensive diamond, and is valuable for insurance purposes also.

You can buy black diamonds on line as well as perhaps your local jeweler may have some. It pays to show around and find out what is available and what sort of prices they are commanding. When you go to the jeweler, ask lots of questions. Understand how diamonds are graded (There is heaps of information in the links on the right) and get yourself an idea of how much diamonds are worth. There is no substitute for due diligence when it comes to spending big money!

A black diamond price need not be prohibitive if you keep the above in mind and know before you buy! im just saying that a 100,000 ring if its real that the biggest fucking black diamond ive ever seen and yes m mom used to be a jeweler

The ring is not fake.  I don’t believe I would wear a fake engagement ring.  I would rather sport a $20.00 sterling silver band, then something flashy that isn’t real.

That being said, my fiancé is blessed to have a full-time, respectable job in an economy where many do not, and I am lucky enough to have a man who thinks I’m worth spending some of that hard earned money on.

Furthermore, I am not 18,19, or 20 anymore. I am a few months away from being 28…and although I would love to be 18 again- one perk about getting older is that you are able to afford nicer things (God willing).

So think what you will, but I will tell you that the ring is not fake.  It did not cost anywhere near $100,000, and it didn’t cost $50,000.00 either.  It was never my intention to lead you to believe that it did.

And, although the price of the ring is none of your business, my fiancé is far too proud of the ring, and I am far too proud of my fiancé to allow your comments to go without a response from me.  The point of posting the picture was to show off something that I am proud of, not to brag about or flaunt wealth.

To everyone else, thanks for all the congratulatory comments! Although this thread is a little attention-whore-ish, I only get to bask in it once in my life and this thread will soon be in the depths of NS history so don't hate.

damn right! tell him whats up. and unless you've already bought your wedding dress, my recommendation is to just wear a white tall tee, and have your fiance wear a tall tuxedo tee, that be a steezy wedding. with a biggie tribute rapper for the wedding dance.

So idk shit about jewelry but it seems to me a diamond that big would have to be well over 100k+, so if its real lol at spending that much money on a engagement ring. Shit if I were going to spend that much money on someone, i'd at least buy them a Porsche or something useful.

Idk just seemed from the angel of the photo that diamond was huge, like bigger then anything i have seen. But based on whatever she posted she said it was between 50k-100k, I would feel guilty wearing something like that around, cuz it has 0 use/function. But gotta be dope to be able to spend that much $ on a ring.

Nah we didn't meet on NS, and if we did I would still say that we didn't.

Here's how it went down, I came in switch, 270 on to one knee, switch up 270 out to mad bang. She must have been impressed cuz she said yes...

The ring is legit. If you don't believe me, good for you I don't care.
