Alright, vie been skiing for like 3 years and this is my first season with twin tips. I got the 166 2010 afterbangs but i cant stand them! They're stiffer than i thought and really heavy. Do you guys know any affordable, light, NON SYMMETRICAL, buttery skis that i should look into for next season? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
by the way im 5 foot 9 and 130 lbs. and i ski mostly park.
fatypus g-butter 178...yeah you may be thinkin holy shit i go from 166 to 178 wtf. but length should be fine... and i dont see how you think that the abangs arent flexy enough cause for your size 166 are a bit small, maybe you need to just go for it
I went from a 162 to a 174 when i got my new park sticks. Size bothered me at first, but i've been on them 5 times this year and I'm used to them. I actually like them a lot better, they are way more stable in the air and on snow. Spinning in and out of rails was a bit harder at first but i got used to it really fast. If your a good skier in gereral, you will really like having a longer ski. BTW i'm 5'8 130 expert out of park, intermediate in park.
Thanks guys. and yeah dude I thought the bangs were supposed to be wicked flexy like my friends invaders but they're not. Im probably looking at the k2 press, line mastermind, and the nordica spark. please keep the suggestions coming.
Wouldn't suggest Masterminds... snapped mine doing a tip stand (only one ski up, half my body weight on it so it wasn't anything extreme and they definatly shouldn't have broken)
yup. garret russel does that with the masterminds. i dont see how you find the a bangs too heavy. im 5'1 and weigh 115lbs and have the 155s (im in grade 9). i thought they were pretty heavy at first but now they feel normal and super soft and buttery.
I mean a lot of people center mount non symmetrical skis, but if you know you are going to center mount you should look for something that is symmetrical.
Not really I have domains they are super light and buttery they have jib rocker in the tip & tails go to the K2 web site to find out more, they are great skis man
As much as people probably buy the cheaper skis from companies like the mastermind, el ray, etc. Never cheap out on a pair of skis. Do a lot of research when going after a new skis and keep in mind the ski you will want after research will be a little bit over your intended price range..usually. what do you usually ski, powder, park, groomers?
nvm i see now its park, although my friends are tearing up really bad, he still loves his Nordica Ace of spades to death, or a little bit of a cheaper option would be the Nordica Dead money. The dead money is a very playful ski that will work wonders on rails and jibs. Other must watch skis would be the Line chronics, I have never liked a ski more than I like my chronics from last year. The K2 domains are evidentely one of the top tier performing skis this year, I would talk to "FLASHKICK01" he rides for K2 and rides the domain so he can tell you everything you need to know. Last option would be the Bluehouse antics, Really considered snagging a pair at the beginning of the season, pm'd matt margerretts who had tested the ski out early in the season, and Matt had nothing but amazing reviews on the ski, the only downside is it is evidently super playful. So I probably wouldnt take it over any 50+ booters.
oh thanks dude for the info. ive wanted the ace of spades for a while but there kind of expensive. I can get k2 extremes for 300 and even though they're stiff, i think id like them. what do you guys think?
