constant impacts can be hard on joints- bad knees, back, arthritis, etc. in old age. Pretty much any risk involved in freeskiing is physical risk.
Benefits are exercise and fresh air. Induces positive mental state- sense of accomplishment, confidence, relaxation, clears mind reducing stress, visualisation skills-left brain thinking. Aerobic fitness. Exercises spatial awareness and motor skills.
Make a web of the basics and continue on from there. example for a personal risk- spend too much money on lift tickets---> not afford food and starve----> ????? ---> profit
maybe for a benefit you could be better at rollerblading since park gave you an idea and those two sports are similar in ways.

What about improperly fitting boots and the damage that can result? Kind of lame and a little unusual, but it still happens. Maybe talk to a few of NS' bootfitters and see what they can tell you.
from an outsiders point of view there are zero benefits to skiing and they see it as the same thing as going to six flags for the day with an increased risk.
less obvious risks: the mental toll that being broke and pursuing a dream that is inherently temporary. a lot of dudes that have been ski bums for a while are totally exhausted, especially once their bodies stop allowing them to ski at the level they would like to.
less obvious benefits: it encourages a general level of fitness. most skiers work out or at least skate or go on trampolines on the off season to try to keep their skills sharp, this year round activity really helps maintain a healthy body.
Mental health and stability goes up a lot because of the great happiness and peace people have when they ski. And a healthy mind leads to a healthy body
