Another "What pow ski?" thread. +K

Alright so i think it is time for me to buy my first pow ski. I have been trying to do some research on them, and reading other threads about what pow ski to buy.

I'm 5'8" and about 145 lbs. I am an aggressive skier. I ski Breckenridge mostly but would like to start going more backcountry. The snow is a little heavier. I have been looking into the Line Sir Francis Bacons, the Atomic Bent Chetlers, and the Armada JJ's. I have kinda lost a little interest in the jj's due to the very soft core and hearing about bindings ripping out.

If there are any other skis that would fit my needs, please mention them. Any advice or recommendations are appreciated. Let's hope i don't forget anything.

Yeah, always a tough call. I have the JJs and have loved them and the SFB were a good demo (haven't tried the Benchetlers) but I would check out a few other companies too

Praxis Skis - sick little company out of Tahoe. If you want a straight-up powder ski, look at the Powder Boards in the 185, or if you want a powder ski that handles all-mountain, the RXs are really legit (come in 179 and 189)

The Alias from Faction Skis would be real good for backcountry and hitting bigger lines - comes in a rockered version (which you should look at) and fully cambered version

ON3P - Check out the Caylor and the Cease & Desist (only comes in 191 though), and the Vicik if you want more touring

Also hear really good things about the Icelantic Shamans - come in 184 and will tear it up in powder and on groomers - I would demo these first though because the shape and construction are pretty unconventional

yah i have the jj in 185 im 5'10 180 and i love them, athough the core is soft, most of the binding rips are due to poor drilling/attachment of the bindings, i would highly recommend the jjs as they are very fun in powder/ all around

though if your just looking for a powder ski look into fatypus because they have great powderskis for what ive heard

I have the bacons and I love them. Great ski for almost any conditions. If they were for ONLY Poe I would go with the ep pros but the bacons are great for a little more pow/all mountain ski.

I'd narrow that to the Caylor, the Cease and Desist will own someone of your height and weight unless you're the most aggressive skier on the planet.

Thanks guys. I have heard many good things about on3p. I am now between the on3p Caylors and the Line SFB leaning a little more towards the caylors.
