Uh did you just compare that dipshit to Snake? Snake is one of the all time badasses. Like two levels above Indiana Jones and Jack Bauer, one above John Mclean, somewhere in the Chuck Norris area of the badass scale.
The only recent film that makes me cringe in terms of plot copying is Avatar. Everything in common with these two films are just regular archetypes; just regular themes found in every film.
Lot's of movies themes now can be traced to old movies. Like Avatar actually isn't related to Pocahontas the animated movie but can be pushed even farther back to Dances With Wolves.
this is no coincidence if you ask me. Avatar is only being compared to pocahontas now because the teenage age group of today finds it to be a very similar story. Avatar is WAY more similar to dances with wolves; it differs slightly from Pocahontas in a few ways. the theme and emotion of the two movies is nearly identical
and also, think about it... James Cameron supposedly writes a perfect script which only has to wait for technology to catch up, 15 years ago... go back another 5 years and dances with wolves wins it big at the Oscars. I don't see a chance of their not being a coincidence. I think he really did rip off DWW knowingly.
I honestly don't get what the big deal about Cameron is. Like yeah Avatar was pretty but if I wanted to see that story I would rather watch DWW. Just me though.
The dude knows how to make bank, and that's all that matters....shit I could have made Titanic in 23 minutes....he made that bitch last 3 hours and people love it.
I would rather watch a complete random movie like Shoot 'Em Up or Extraordinary Measures or Good over a movie that is just a technically advanced version of a movie made in the early 90s.
