Making a ski vice

I want to get a nicer vice but dont want to spend 100 so ive made the platforms that the skis rest on but how to i keep the ski to stay securley in place

i was thinking about making a plate on the jigsaw the same size as my bootsole and having my bindings click into it. if id really take the time, i could make it adjustable for all bsls. anyone done this?

i just took 2 wooden blocks and put rubber on top, that way i don't need to hold the skis down with straps or vices because the rubber provides enough friction to wax, sharpen and scrape ....

i could get some pics but it's a very simple design, just 2 wooden blocks with rubber and it works awesome!

thats kinda what i did. i got two sawhorses. put them sideways so it was one line. got like a 2x6 and bolts it to both sawhorses. and then got some 2x4s cut them short and just stacked them up and put some of my old dh tires from my dh rig on them and its a almost a perfect waxing bench/table. could use a socket for the iron though but thats what extension cords are for

finally had my camera with me while waxing and made some photos, they work very well, the design is obviously very simple ....

the rubber on top hass about the same consistency as a car tire and provides enough grip to wax/sharpen/scrape a ski/snowboard

they're also easy to pack and take with you on a skitrip, waxing will be so much easier on these thing than on a chair/bed/table
