Why do people over pay for shit on ebay?

you can get awesome deals on there (I find them all the time on stuff I dont need), you just need to know when to stop. Some people just dont know

sellers make money, ebay makes money off of fees that you have to pay a flat rate for every item

Ebay doesnt profit on how much an item sells for, they profit of fee's they charge to put up listings, pictures and all the other extras.

And people over pay because people are stupid.

Boom! Your wrong, so dont try to correct someone. Ebay charges a listing fee based on your auction options. Like length, buy it now and so on. Then they charge you a final value fee. Which forme is 9% of the ending auction price.

So yes Ebay does profit on how much an item sells

They have a promo on right now for free listings....but i still get charged a final value fee which i think is 9 percent

Im not sure how you can say Im wrong. In my case those are the fees I pay. Ive sold $800 worth of shit in the past 30 days and I pay 9% of every final sale price.

Then you have PayPal fees as well. eBay is a monopoly, plain and simple.

It hurts, but there is no other option.
