External Flash? New Lenses?

Hello, I was just wondering what is the point of buying a flash for your camera if it already comes with one? ive seen it on the t2i and theres already a built in flash on it. Also, I have a sigma 18-50 f?2.8 and im wondering what would be a good lens for a little bit more power but not to much.

The built in flashes suck, external flashes give you more light and more options on how to use them

Yeah an External flash is going to bring a lot more light into your photos, and you can get some really cool shots with them. and they come in handy when theres not a lot of natural light.

Id definitely get yourself like a 430EXII and get a transmitter/reciever

the previous posts explain pretty well why an external flash is good, but as for a new lens, you want a lens with more power? What do you mean? Faster lens? More zoom?

yeah sorry should of said more zoom. yeah more zoom for shots like in the summer in the mountain and also a bit of skiing.

are there any cheaper choices? or is that it. because i want to take phots in low lighting area, but i dont wanna spend that much money on a flash

Of course theres cheaper models, but I would suggest looking on ebay, or even kijiji/craigslist for a used one.

as far as more zoom you could look at the 55-250mm, its rather cheap and still produces good quality.

As for a great multipurpose lens, definitely check out the 50mm f/1.8, its fantastic in low light, has great bokeh, and just a sharp lens, especially for its price.

your shooting with a t2i right? check out the Canon 55-250

Ebay or the kijiji/craigslist is your friend

Well if your not looking to spend a lot of money then you cant afford anything in the f2.8 range.
honestly your just starting out, its not going to make a huge difference, if anything its going to keep everything in focus.

and all 70-200 are L series lens's and are going to cost you $699-$2,749
