Edge armor

can someone please explain to me what this really is? i havent been around too long and dont go into GT that often because its all clothing threads. i googled it but didnt find very relevant stuff, just that it sucks hardcore. thanks

edge armor is when they link the two edges together with i think carbon fiber strands? could be wrong on what they use, but they cross them to make a "X" pattern. it supposedly makes it stronger, but actually makes it weaker a lot of the time

well supposedly if the edge breaks, the fibers would keep the rest of the edge from pulling out of the skis

im pretty sure its something salomon made up and put on the base to make people think the ski is stronger. don't know if it actually works but thats what i've heard

Does it really take away from the skis durability? I might buy Dumonts from last year, but I don't want them to break

salomon has had major durability issues over the past few years. I think they are getting better, but the first 2 years the suspects were out there were broken ski threads every other day about the suspects and dumonts.

Well, Simon refused to ski them, so I would say that's a bad thing.

my friend had this years suspects and his edge came out, edge armor makes them alot weaker and i'm pretty sure my friend said that it actually pulled out his edge, but this years pro pipes do not have edge armor if that effects your decisions
