Lens help

Hey ns... so i need some advice. I just got a canon 60d for x mas and i have a canon 50-250mm canon lens. So my question is... should i go ahead and purchase a canon 18-55mm lens or should i save up for a tamron 17-55mm? Or if there is something in between price wise you would like to tell me about dont be afraid. THanks

The Canon 18-55 is horrible and from what i've heard the Tamron 17-50 is a great lens.
