The contour gps helmet cam apparently contains bluetooth. Contour secretly hid bluetooth in the camera and a secret button near the record slider. They unvieled this news yesterday. Apps are being created to allow a user to stream live what the camera is looking at via an iphone or other mobile phones. You can also start and stop the recording from the phone, and tweak camera setting on the fly. I think this is amazing. How did contour keep it a secret, and WHY did they hahah.
hence why the mobile apps that make it actually useful are not going to be available for another few months, and you have to buy a $30 add on to use it with an iphone.
Looks like the ContourGPS bluetooth viewfinder software will be free for Android! Another great reason why I love my Android over iPhone.
I don't think the iPhone has a full bluetooth implementation stack built-in natively in the hardware?? Maybe the iPhone 5. Hopefully Contour will have their app out before then.
gopro all day, can't tell you how many times ive dropped it, run it into branches, had mounts pop off, etc quick/cheap lens replacement at the worst so far
i love my contour but i mount mine on my helmet and my helmet always gets crooked because one side is weighted from the camera. thats the biggest downside for me, but i can fix it easily
