I also love mine, super fun, in my opinion the perfect flex. Ive had 20 days on mine skiing everything from jumps to rails to pow and the only flaw is a small chip on the tail I got the first day, seem to be alot better quality than some other salomon skis. I would for sure recommend them
ive heard so much bad things about salomons quality and reliability that i personally dont trust them as a company anymore. its a cool ski but from what ive read about salomon there are certain "risks" that go along with buying any of their skis.
yea mostly. but i was also talking about customer service/reliability of the whole company. ive heard so many horror stories... im sure some of the skis they make are amazing i would just rather deal with different companies
well the only main construction difference is that the suspects have edge armor, but both skis have same exact edges, ive heard edge problems with the 2012s but nothing major unlike the suspects, i just wish salomon made park skis like they did a few years ago
rode armada ar6 last year mounted them -2.5 cm from center mount loved the hit rails on them... switched to progressive stance and center mount .... i can carve better with the 2012 but real high speeds the armada's are more stable but the 2012 is way easier to carve at higher speeds...
I think i bought them a little long for park... im 5'9 5'10 bought 179 they could be a little shorter to help with rails but pow to park they shred it all
Dumont and Suspect were close to the same ski though weren't they? I think they were the same mold the Dumont was just stiffer, I haven't heard of any other skis breaking consistently other than the Suspect. 2012s seem really stable though, surprisingly I have no major scratches despite all the early season rocks at Sunshine, and no edge cracks and I've hit alot of rails with them. My friend is convinced mine are going to snap (his Suspects did a couple of weeks ago) but I think mine will hold up, I heard something about the reason for so many Suspects breaking was because of the edge armor going through and weakening the base? Don't know if thats true though
i spent a day skiing a pair of 171s and i found them to be crazy flexy. mind you i was just coming off a pair of 181 chronics but still. Super fun ski that i took literally everywhere.
2012s= best park ski I have ever ridden, and its crazy versatile to boot. Buttery, but still poppy, super stable on jumps and rails, crazy light swing weight, and they kill it in the pow-pow, demolish crud, and remain stable on ice. Mine have held up great minus one edge dent that was my fault for trying a switch 270 onto a ride on rail in the minipark. Get em.
