guys guys guys..... youre missing the big picture here, what about twall? how much vertical did he climb? how many chair rides and hiked features did he ride? shit takes dedication, effort, and hard work, give twall some credit.

actually though, sure twall isnt the best EVER by any means, he isnt the best all around skier, and many other skiers have accomplished what he did a few times over, however, that isnt the point. he was voted by his peers and followers as skier of the year, so tgr, if youre going to whine and make suggestions about who should have won, then why didnt you vote?

Dude it doesn't matter what you ride its all snow. I like to think that were all part of the some community but we have enough of a differing opinion that we don't get stuck in a rut.

In other news, wasn't there a thread about this poll was messed up cause it compared to different styles and motivation?

Yo dawg I live in the midwest, my "hill" has 400 vertical. Tell me how the fuck am i supposed to think sick ass big mountain lines are sick, when the nearest mountain is 1000+ miles away. I take it back I think some gnarly lines are dope, esp helmet cams of them, but after the first time I watch a ski movie I skip over all the pow and backcountry segments.

i don't know whats with the hate form TGR to here. most people on here always say that they'd rather be skiing powder and whatnot than park. So I don't see the issue. Just cause we can do park too give a cause for hate. plus, it's fucking skiing.

Why does it matter?
Anyone notice how all the freestyle guys EVOLVE into Big Mountain? Not a whole lot of 14 year olds shredding lines and basically none earning them. You can't give it to Candide because he would get it every year and that would be boring.

Wow, I thought the G park skiiers were the pretentious ones.

But most of the people posting over there are definitely total fucking douchebags. Here there's definitely always some respect for backcountry/ mountain skiing, not just park. Didn't see much of that there.
Imagine being in the chair/ gondola with one of those elitist fuckers... christ.

Not all of course... but who would hate on a skiier who is undoubtedly good at what he does, even if it's not at all your style? Why? What's the point? Don't fucking bother.

eh 50%? You sure? If I remember Candide Kamera had pretty good feedback on here with multiple page responses. He was also pretty big in the park scene. Remember the Candide Invitational? He also has a very extensive film history. He was in X Games, and has won multiple times. So, pretty sure most everyone knows who he is.

wtf, iu have seen both movies and both are very good, yet i do think eye trip is a bit better. However, i believe both Twall and Greg Hill do not deserve freeskier of the year. Tom Wallisch's segment was good but not even close to the best, and yes his double of sun valley jump was sick as fuck. Greg Hill should not be awarded either bc we are looking for best FREESKIER of the year award. I would have either chosen Sage, Sammy, Ahmet, or Adam Delorme as freeskier of the year because they showed talent in urban, jumps, and backcountry. I can't believe people are considering these two as freeskiers of the year for powder magazine, there were way better performers this year. And TGR is a very dope film company, if you are making threads dissing on TGR than you sir are not a skier

you'd think that (and i hope you're right), but i'm constantly amazed by the complete lack of knowledge on this website. the collective memory of newschoolers usually doesn't go back further than wallisch winning superunknown.

after this movie he's making comes out, people will be forced to recognize. i'd honestly be shocked if he doesn't do multiple zero's in a big mountain line, or like a switch cork 990 over a 50 foot gap onto a rail.

and i dont think anyone on TGR would be hating on candide for winning.
