Cheapest places to live in boston

I am a college student in NH. I will not have a ton of money leaving school. I was just wondering of the cheaper places to live are in the city.....give a price range if possible.

The red light district is nice. I mean the people are nice, great housing, cheap prices, and you can pay to get laid whenever you want.

If you live right outside of Boston it's a lot cheaper. For instance Malden... take the train from Oak Grove and you're in the city within minutes and you pay 2 times less to live in a nicer pad.

You could live in Allston by the BU campus.  That shits poppin. And priced so college kids can afford it.

Brighton/Allston are best places for recent college grads...moderatly priced housing + tons of bars + infinite supply of young women (too many asians for my taste)

but if thats to expensive head just north of the city to either malden/medford/somerville

remember southie, the south end, and south boston are threee VERY different places

southie is what you see portrayed in all the boston movies - working class blue collar with strong irish presence

south end is a trendy, high gay population area

south boston should be avoided at all costs...shootings in hyde park, dorchester, and roxbury were very very high this summer

roxbury, dorchester, and that whole area will be cheap, but not worth the risk. And its hard to tell it's bad, because some of the worst areas are literally right across the street from BU.

Few of my brother's friends managed to get places in the north end. Wasn't extremely cheap, but they all loved living there.

Brighton is mini Russia haha. Seriously though, if you live right outside of Boston (Malden, Revere, Woburn, Quincy) and just take the train in, your cost of living will be so much less.

i love boston! a lot of my friends who go to school there live out near brigham circle, mission hill, back of the hill, etc. not sure if it's still as cheap out there as it was b/c it seems like college kids are catching on. but i always dig it when i go to visit. parts of this area have a slightly sketchy vibe, especially on the parts of the hill that border roxburyroxbury crossing, but you just need to be smart. and brigham circle/tremont street have some fun bars and good food. plus you've got a good supermarket right there.

live in allston brighton. i paid $725 a month in allston right on comm ave last year (super expensive) but i lived in a pretty nice place. everything was relatively new, decent sized rooms.

now i live in a house in brighton and its $575. my room is bigger, its quieter, i get a parking spot, but stuff like my kitchen and bathroom are way worse than my previous place.

you can live for wicked cheap in dorchester/roxbury/etc. but i wouldnt suggest it, obviously. people say there are nice places and stuff, but cmon.

if youre looking to be in like the back bay area expect to pay $1000+ for a studio. one bedrooms are usually around $800 kind of anywhere in the city it seems.
