OPTEKA 6.5MM F3.5 FISHEYE LENS FOR CANON CROP SENSOR

Anyone on here used this lens before. What did you think of it, any problems? How was the manual focus? Worth the money?

I'm looking to get a relatively cheap fisheye. It has to be carried by henry's photography canada because i got a bunch of gift cards there for hanukah, this limits my choices. I did a bit of research and this lens seems to fit my needs. It is manual focus but thats not really a problem. I shoot a lot of everything but fisheye photography has always interested me.

Right know i have a canon rebel xsi with a canon 18-55 F3.5-5.6 IS and a canon 24mm F2.8. I know it a lot of really short focal lengths but there isn't a good zoom lens within my budget and i have access to a couple of L series zooms.

A shit-ton of pics used with my exact cam and this lens. This guy does over-contrasts his photos a ton though.

Definitely buy it, my buddy has one and I'm coping one my next paycheck.
for the price it really can't be beat. focus is really simple, especially since its such a wide fov.

The glass is surprisingly good for its price, deff good quality.

ps that lens is also the same as the rokinon/vivitar/samyang fisheyes.
Basically its a blank pricepoint lens that these company's have put their logo on, so if you can find 1 for cheaper go with that.

I have the samyang version and love it. Focusing isn't a problem for me.

Bump. Trying to decide between the fisheye, a canon 50mm F1.8, or a canon 55-250mm F4-5.6 Any other suggestions on good cheap lenses?

Those are all very different lenses. Decide what you want your lens to do and the look of the images you want to make, and then research lenses in that category until you find a quality lens in your price range.

you have to decide to buy a 50mm? its cheep enough that it should be an impulse buy, something every canon shooter should have in their bag

I know. Their all completely different. But they are three lenses that i want and i can only afford to purchase one at the moment. Any suggestion for a good tele-zoom under $300?

Gotcha.

Naw sorry man, I don't know canon's line at all.

If you want to buy a lens right now, either buy the lens that you are going to use the most, or go with the one you are least likely to sell. I always make an effort to save up for the glass I want to keep, so I don't have to worry about selling it later.

Don't own this myself, but here is some test footy with the Opteka 6.5mm on a 7d which is a cropped sensor.. scope it, seems pretty legit!
